Product Description
Lotus seeds are small nuts. They are oval, ovate, or ovoid, and their size varies depending on the variety. Generally, they are 1.6-1.8 cm long and 1.1-1.2 cm wide, with 1100-1400 grams per thousand seeds. The fruit skin is green and leathery during the young fruit stage, later turning from green to brown, and becoming brownish, grayish-brown, and dark brown when mature. There are fine longitudinal lines and wider vein lines. One end is centrally nipple-shaped and protruding, dark brown, often with cracks, and slightly recessed around the periphery. The texture is hard. The seed coat is thin and not easily peeled. There are 2 cotyledons, yellowish-white, thick, with a gap in the middle, and containing a green lotus heart. It is odorless, with a sweet and slightly astringent taste.
