Product Description
Tricholoma matsutake, also known as Matsutake mushroom, Songshan, Hejun, and Taigun, belongs to the Basidiomycota, Tricholomataceae. It is an ectomycorrhizal fungus that grows on the roots of trees such as pine and oak. It has a unique and rich aroma and is a rare and precious natural medicinal fungus in the world. It is a second-level endangered protected species in China. Matsutake mushrooms thrive in nutrient-poor and relatively dry forests, generally appearing in autumn and usually parasitizing the roots of red pine, Siberian dwarf pine, hemlock, and Japanese hemlock. The main Matsutake producing areas in China include the Shangri-La producing area, the Chuxiong producing area, and the Yanbian producing area, among which the Shangri-La producing area accounts for 70% of the national total output and has been the champion of Matsutake exports for 30 consecutive years.
Matsutake is a pure natural, rare, and precious edible fungus, known as the "King of Mushrooms." Legend has it that after the atomic bombing of Hiroshima in August 1945, the only surviving multicellular microorganism was Matsutake, and it remains impossible to artificially cultivate it worldwide. It grows in high-mountain forests at altitudes above 3500 meters in the cold temperate zone. It was recorded in the Song Dynasty's "Compendium of Materia Medica". Studies have shown that Matsutake is rich in protein, containing 18 amino acids, 14 essential trace elements for the human body, 49 active nutrients, 5 unsaturated fatty acids, nucleic acid derivatives, peptide substances, and other rare elements. It also contains three precious active substances. Matsutake is harvested and consumed from early August to mid-October in autumn. It has a special rich aroma, a texture like abalone, and is extremely smooth and refreshing.
